Konrad van Staden

Konrad van Staden is a Clinical Psychologist and Jungian Analyst. Konrad provides individual Jungian Analysis, Psychotherapy, High-Performance Coaching, and Wilderness Processes to groups and individuals, and author of My Fat Head – The Psychology of Weight Loss. 

Education: Completed clinical studies at Pretoria University and Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital. Initial degree in Law at Rhodes University, followed by travels through Europe and the Middle East. Returned to Rhodes for Philosophy and Psychology, with further studies at Stellenbosch and Pretoria.

Professional Experience: Expertise in psychoanalytic therapy, addictive disorders (obesity, binge-eating, substance abuse), depth therapy, psychosexual problems, and expressions of depression/anxiety. After years as a clinician, completed four-year Jungian Analyst training at the Cape Town C.G. Jung Centre. Member of Southern African Association of Jungian Analysts and IAAP.

Additional: M.Phil. in Executive and Leadership Coaching from Stellenbosch University Business School, informing sports/executive work.

Philosophy: Therapy reclaims balance, accessing internal resources through biology, mind, and social dynamics. Rooted in the Eastern Cape and Lowveld, Konrad enjoys coastal life in Port Elizabeth with family, dog, horse, and nature sports. Passionate about wildlife-human-economic interactions.
